Smooth is a very widely used, but also very narrow way to describe and analyse animation. In this episode, I discuss what my problem with ‘smoothness’ really is as a way of looking at animation. I debate what the objective of animation is, what Akira can teach us about Japanese Animation and how varied is anime as a meta!
